From a fairly early age I've been haunted by an acute awareness of all there is to see out there. This has been both a blessing, which has spurred me to travel to far-flung places, as well as something of a curse, as my constant yearnings to get out there rub up against the inescapable demands of daily life.

Wanting to have complete freedom regarding where I go and what I choose to photograph, I support my photography endeavors through a real estate business in Arlington, Virginia. Given the income realities of freelancing, this combination has allowed me to pursue my passion for travel photography without having to live under a bridge somewhere.

Despite going through the rigmarole of two degrees, a half-hearted attempt at law school, and a stint as a congressional aide, I've managed to arrive at this point in life with my head on straight. Aiming to maintain that balanced perspective and not get tied to a sedentary existence, I plan to satisfy my wanderlust by continuing to tramp about, camera in hand, as much as I can.

There are truly places in the world as magically beautiful as your nighttime dreams. The misty light of alpenglow over a snow-covered mountain summit, the pure awe in seeing a lion make a kill on the Serengeti, even the simple serenity found in the oceanic expanses of the Australian outback, all somehow become part of you. I feel very fortunate and will always be thankful for being able to make such unforgettable scenes a part of my life.

My on-line gallery of photographs and listing of travel article excerpts will be revised from time to time following various trips. I hope you will continue to check in every now and then.

Adios!
